Gulati spent eight years at Apple working on mobile systems-on-a-chip, and Bruno spent five years in Apple’s platform architecture group. Williams left Apple this spring after more than nine years as chief architect for all Apple central processors and systems-on-a-chip. Nuvia’s founders Gerard Williams III, John Bruno, and Manu Gulati shared time as chip executives at Apple, with Williams holding the role of chief architect for all of the A-series chips. The company on Friday said it raised $53 million from Dell Technologies Capital and several Silicon Valley firms, which will help it expand from 60 employees to about 100 by the end of this year.
NUVIA Inc was founded by Gerard Williams III, Manu Gulati and John Bruno in early 2019 and is developing a processor code-named Phoenix. Reported by Reuters, Nuvia came out of stealth mode today.
The newly founded chip maker will compete with the likes of Intel and AMD. The three founders have more than 20 years of combined experience at Apple with one having served as the company’s chief A-series architect.
I just wish some things could be enhanced.A trio of former Apple chip executives has started a new chip company that has the goal of improving large servers. Overall, I’m glad this app exists as it was key to choosing Chief Architect that I be able to show and share models. Support for saved walkthroughs would be nice. It really takes away some awkwardness when showing models to others and having them gather around your iPad if you’re not in a position to mirror your screen. Along these lines, the floor navigation in the floor plan is really just a cross section height adjustment and is difficult to control. I’d like to be able to see notes I made on my desktop as text boxes. It would be great if we could also control the layers to hide or show them. Next, there should be a floor plan view that mimics the view in Chief Architect instead of only having the textured floor plan. There are games I play that seem to use much more complex polygons, textures and lighting that run faster than the models in this app. There’s only so much you can take out after all. Most importantly, I frequently get out of memory errors when loading models even after I’ve attempted to optimize. Since your review we have added a feature to see a floorplan view of your model. Thank you for your review and feature requests. I can't wait to see where this app goes from this moment. I'm not saying it needs to be exactly like BIMx but even the option of loading your 3D model along with a separate tab that also allows you to load your 2D construction documents would go a long way when talking to clients in a real world situation. It allows you to view your design in 3D or 2D plans. 2 dimensional plans are equally important when discussing layout and flow of an area.Īn app that does this flawlessly is BIMX. When sitting in front of a client you don't always need a 3D model. It's very impressive in front of clients.but it's way behind on going between a 3D view and a 2 dimensional floor plan.
It does a very good job of allowing you to view your design in 3D mode. I was super excited to learn about this app. Let me start off by saying that I love chief architect. walk thru allowing you to physically walk

To view models with 3D Viewer, export the original model with saved cameras from Chief Architect software to the cloud (provided by Chief Architect) and open the model using 3D Viewer. Use a virtual reality headset to immerse yourself in the model. Walk or Fly through designs and experience exterior, room, cross section, and floor plan views.
